About the Wine

Tasting Notes

Jeb Dunnuck: Even better than the 2014, the brilliant 2015 Stormy Weather offers slightly more oomph and exotic qualities as well as fabulous notes of jammy blackberry, blueberries, white flowers, and espresso roast. Flamboyant, sweetly fruited, sexy, yet perfectly balanced, it’s a sensa- tional 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon that does everything right. The 2015 is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the Samual Brannon vineyard in Calistoga, that spent 28 months in new French oak. Hats off to winemaker Cameron Wood- bridge for this brilliant wine.

97 Points

Wine Advocate: The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cab- ernet) was aged for 30 months in 100% new French oak and an additional six months in bottle. Medium garnet-purple colored, it gives perfumed red and black currants, cherry cordial and earth with cigar box notions. Full, rich and very spicy in mouth, it's wonderfully plush with seamless fresh- ness, finishing long and earthy. 321 cases produced.

Anticipated maturity: 2018-2036

Winemaker's Tasting Notes: Deep garnet in color with aromas of cherries and blackberry with a waft of summer sweet pea blossoms. Flavors of bing cherry and blackberry jam with big, soft opulent tannins that carry through the mid-pallet into a long fruit bomb fin-ish. Drinking beautifully now but will easily age 10-20 years.

The 2015 was fermented in small format stainless steel tanks. Cold soaked 5 days prior to fermentation. Tempera- ture maintained below 80 degrees and a post ferment ex- tended maceration of an additional 5 days.
