2017 Angove Family Winemakers Warboys Vineyard Shiraz Mclaren Vale 2017
96 Points Tasting Panel
Aromas of plum-kissed violets are mirrored on the palate, where white pepper persists through vivid notes of black cherry, dark chocolate, and cinnamon. A flow of velvet-lined tannins creates a creamy mouthfeel. Aged ten months in French oak, this may be one of the most lithe, aromatic, and elegant vintages yet for this label.
About The Winery
As a family, and as proud South Australians, they’re always thinking about the generations to come, always planning for the long-term, and always taking care of the soil that is our past, present and future.
It’s one of the key reasons they have been a leader in the adoption of sustainable and organic winemaking practices, safeguarding the future of their vineyards, their land, their wine regions and their wine industry in South Australia. Their belief in organic vineyard management resonates as true in that more naturally healthy soils and vines lead to more flavourful and delicious wines.
Winemaking is a blend of science and art, a craft that captures the soil, site and season.
From soil to grape to glass, growing grapes and making wine has always been at the heart of the DNA. We believe that great wines begin in the vineyard and are crafted and polished in the winery.
The 100-year-old winery has the benefit of both traditional and modern winemaking equipment and techniques. The dedicated small batch Vintage House handles their super McLaren Vale and Organic premium wines.
Hand plunging and gentle pumping over extracts colour and flavour in the red wines and maturation in our cool barrel hall ensures freshness and vibrancy are retained.
Accredited to the highest standard, their state of the art bottling facility guarantees the wine is carefully estate bottled, ready for the world.
