100% barrel; 15% new-rest 2-4 years for 10months; 50 year average vines (20hl/h); Grown at 350m with western exposition; Very dark garnet color; a ripe nose of black cherry, cassis & savory herbs. On the palate this is hyper concentrated for the appellation with ripe black cherry, blackberry wrapped in a savory blanket of elegant forest floor and herbs; extended finish with wonderful complexity. Awesome Pinot for the money!
About The Wine
Domaine Henri Latour is a 15 hectare estate owned and managed by brothers, Francois and Sylvan Latour, in Auxey-Duresses. They represent the 7th generation of growers. The vineyards are farmed sustainably and Guyot trained with debudding in the spring. The soil here is clay and calcaire (limestone). The fruit is hand harvested and sorted in the vineyard and again when it arrives at the domaine via a sorting table. Malolactic fermentation for reds is done in barrel. This estate represents fantastic values from top to bottom.
